Previously those rectangular knuckles would be cut out of the shape, but in Maya 2018 they are all one solid piece (likely due to settings changes). I recently upgraded to Maya 2018 (no longer have license for 2016 version) and when importing the same dxf files, it almost always only imports a few of the curves (99% of my old dxf files tested now show up incomplete).Īn example of what the imports of files that worked in 2016 now come out as (missing curves): Īn example of one I successfully imported here, but the planar conversion acts differently:

DXF DESIGN & PROJECT PICTURE SHARING FORUMS.WELCOME CENTER, GOOD INFO & MEET OUR SPONSORS.Could be because I've gotten used to InkScape but anyway, for the DXF files that won't open in InkScape, I can almost always open them in QCAD. I have a simple CAD program that came with my table, called QCAD. This happens on about 75% of the DXF files that I try to download. Fortunately she posted both the DXF and the SVG because the DXF is distorted when I open it but the SVG looks perfect. I can always open SVG files with no problem but most folks upload DXF.įor example, Robinhillmachine posted the really nice Nightmare Before Christmas piece. Just curious if it's something that I'm doing or the version of InkScape or what.

Circles will have flat bottoms or other curves and arcs will have straight edges. Sometimes I can't open them at all and other times the images are distorted. Does anyone else have problems sometimes opening DXF files from the forum in InkScape? I'm using InkScape version 0.92.
